About Paul

Paul Winters is a filmmaker, actor, artist, motorcyclist, and storyteller based in Arizona. Through American Stories, he travels across the country meeting people whose lives, traditions, and experiences are often overlooked by the modern world.

From border ranchers and small towns to artists, cowboys, immigrants, and working people, American Stories is about listening first and letting people tell their own story in their own words.

Over a career spanning decades, Winters has worked in independent film and with major Hollywood studios as a director, cinematographer, writer, actor, and producer.

In addition to filmmaking, Winters is also a painter, photographer, printmaker, and lifelong motorcycle rider whose work reflects a fascination with the American experience, the West, and the disappearing textures of another time.
